Aug 08 படப்பை ,State BJP IT Cell has organized a sapling project in a private Engineering college in Padappai on Monday 9th August 2010. BJP IT Cell has planted 100 saplings by the students in the college premises. The programme was attended by BJP State General Secretary Mohanarajulu, BJP State IT Cell President Kothandaraman, BJP Kancheepuram District President K T Raghavan, Kancheepuram district General secretary K.P Jayakumar, Kancheepuram district general secretary IT Cell Sanjaya Kumar and other party members from kancheepuram district.

Mohanarajulu in his brief speech urged the students to save the green cover to reduce the effects of Global warming. Kothandaraman said, the intention behind sapling plants by students is to create an awareness among students to save the green cover and encourage them to plant many more saplings. State IT cell president said that, the state IT Cell is planning to plant 1 lac saplings in other colleges and schools in the next 6 months.

Later, the 100 saplings were given to the students and college administration by the BJP partymen and the same were planted.

BJP IT cell also issued handouts to the students briefing about Global warming and its impact on the earth and preventive measures.
